We have you covered. You'll be able to text or email Dr. Stark, and in most cases he will get back to you within a few hours. If you need a teledentistry appointment for consultations or prescriptions we can also set that up. Do you want a second opinion on your x-rays? Just email them over. Best of all, there are no up sales, add-ons, or hidden charges. Everything is included in your low monthly subscription fee.

Second Opinion +AI
Would you like a little more confidence in your treatment plan? A second opinion by a third party can give you the peace of mind you are looking for. Members can upload their x-rays and Dr. Stark will send back a video report of both his diagnosis and Overjet AI diagnosis. Would you like to know what options you have? Members can send in pertinent information and Dr. Stark will discuss your concerns, options, and even offer pricing resources through email.
Teledentistry Exams
Members receive up to two live video consultations with Dr. Stark or four asynchronous video reports each year. Send in your x-rays and treatment plan before hand and you can discuss them live with Dr. Stark. Get your questions answered and learn about options in real-time. Our asynchronous video reports are great way to get the information you want without having to coordinate an appointment time. Dr Stark will discuss your case, share his opinions while sharing his screen and answer any questions through email.
Prescription Service
Do you feel a cold sore coming on, but by the time you get into your dentist it will be to late to stop it? Members can jump on quick call with Dr. Stark and have a prescription waiting for them at their pharmacy that same day. Antibiotics, antivirals, topical steroids, and even pain medications can quickly be called in for members. Prescriptions for narcotic pain medications are not offered with the Substitute Dentist Membership.
Unlimited Email or Text Q&A
Share any questions you have with Dr. Stark through our HIPAA compliant email server. Is this a cold sore? Should I come in and get my tooth checked out? Why are my teeth so sensitive all of a sudden? In most cases Dr. Stark will respond within 24 hours of you submitting your question, but usually much faster.

If you live near enough to our office in South Jordan, Utah and would like to be treated here, you'll receive 10% off of our standard fees. This single benefit can easily cover the cost of being a member.

How is only $9.99/month?
We believe if we provide amazing and timely customer service at a low monthly fee our patients will value maintaining their subscription rather than canceling after their immediate needs are taken care of. Some months you may receive hundreds of dollars of value, but other months you may not need us at all, while other members may benefit.
Does the monthly fee only cover me or does it cover my family as well?
The monthly fee covers your immediate family living in your home.
Can I cancel at anytime, even right after my immediate needs are met?
You can cancel anytime after your first month. Our goal is keep our fees low the the value high, so that you remain a member. If you cancel you cannot resubscribe unless you pay the $120 resubscription fee or wait for one year from your cancelation date.
Can I get pain medication through the Substitute Dentist Membership?
After a video or audio chat we can call in Ibuprofen, Magic Mouthwash and Acetaminophen. For the safety of our patients and practice we do not prescribe narcotic pain medication through the Substitute Dentist Membership.
How do I cancel my membership?
Call our office at 801-254-0713 anytime after your first month to cancel your membership.
What happens after I sign up?
After subscribing you will receive a HIPAA compliant email with consent forms, health history, and identification request. You'll be given both our email and text number. From there you can email or text anything you need anytime you want. We will get back to you within 24 hours, but in most cases much quicker.
Is Substitute Dentist a good idea for dental emergencies?
It certainly can be. Many dental emergencies are best handled in person and there are limitations to teledentistry, but sometimes you just need advice, and Substitute Dentist is perfect for that. If you have a dental emergency and we can't get to you quick enough simply cancel and request a refund.
How do I get my x-rays from my dentist for a second opinion?
Simply request them to be emailed to you. If you are concerned about offending your dentist please keep in mind that first, your dentist will most likely never know your requested them, and second many patients request their x-rays for other reasons than a second opinion. For example, apps like MyChart, Apple Health, and Microsoft Health Vault allow patients store their own medical records and would require a patient to request those records from their dentist.
Can I use my Insurance or Flex Spending?
You can use a Flex Spending Account to pay the monthly fee. You can also use dental insurance if you choose to be treated in our office. You will need to talk to your insurance company directly to be reimbursed for the the monthly Substitute Dentist fee.
